I think the recent attacks on the elderly as reported by the television program ACA in Australia are a disgrace. The elderly should be looked up to not beaten for a few dollars they may have. As suggested in the program I believe if the elderly carried debit cards they would be less likely attacked. In this case we ought to encourage banks to hold education classes on the many that are available and how to use them. It would also be wise for the elderly especially to go into banks and not use ATM's as there would be an added risk of someone seeing what they take out of the machines if they decide to do that. But where ever possible they should pay by the card to minimise their exposure to thieves.
